Our annual Accounting Banquet provided an opportunity for students, faculty, alums and friends to meet and visit. Scholarships were awarded and a delicious meal enjoyed. It was held at the Gateway Club in Waynesville, NC on September 18, 2009.

Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, and Economics Department

The WCU Department of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Economics offers a wide variety of academic programs designed to prepare you to be tomorrow’s business leader in the private, government, or public sector.

We currently have 105 students enrolled in accounting, with an average of 25 to 30 graduating seniors a year. Currently, 71 students are enrolled in finance, with an average of 20 to 25 graduating seniors a year.

Our faculty members are dedicated to creating a learning environment of excellence with a personal touch as they teach and develop the department’s dynamic curriculum.

As a member of the department, you’ll find that there are many activities to explore your interest in your chosen field of study both inside and outside the classroom. Events such as Career Days allow you to enter the workforce well-prepared for the world of business, and clubs and organizations provide valuable collaboration and networking opportunities.
